The LIFE Foundation

Through the multi-disciplinary team in Romania we are able to offer nursing support, psychological care, physiotherapy and social work input for children in Family Type Homes and adults living in institutions. We promote de-institutionalisation through developing life skills and aim to support good quality care while individuals are in the institutions by meeting their healthcare needs and providing meaningful activities. 

In recent years we have opened a Community Centre, to support the needs of the local community, with the aim of reducing the number of children being moved into institutional care. The centre has specialist equipment to ensure our multi-disciplinary team can offer the best care to the families that access the centre. 

Our UK team offer support to our Romanian colleagues through training and advice. We regularly fundraise for specialist equipment which is required to meet the needs of the beneficiaries in Romania. 

We undertake specialist trips to visit the projects, identify priorities in liaison with Government services and our MDT and design our professional trips to meet these priorities. Previous trips have focused on behaviours of concern (challenging behaviour), safe feeding and improving the physical environment.
